hey, i'm junior right now. my "dream" schools are columbia, upenn and cornell. i just checked the january sat score, and i got R610/M740/W760, total 2110. I usually got 680~720 for R and 800 for M on sat practice tests. so yeah,, i ll take sat once more in upcoming june, and bring it up to at least 2250.

Cornell I would say you have a good shot at. Columbia and UPenn however are somewhat reachy. Don’t get me wrong, you are a strong applicant, but you aren’t super-epic-ultra amazing, which apparently is what those schools desire. Also, what is your expected major?

With your curent sat score, mid reach to Cornell and reach to the other two. If you raise it then high match/low reach to Cornell and mid reach to the other two.

You should get into Cornell, especially if you’re up to a 2200. Columbia and UPenn are definitely a bit tougher and could depend on factors beyond your control, so you should have a shot.

You are a very strong applicant, the only weakness would be a pattern in your ECs. I think a lot of these competitive schools like to see passion about a particular subject, like journalism or engineering. I would say if you did something especially standout this summer that would boost your chances quite a bit for all these schools. Please chance me back! (:
