Before I can tell you anything resembling a target score for McGill (that target score will be a target score for just about anyone on your list), I need to know what major(s) you intend to pursue in college; different majors call for different safety lines.

If you can stomach grade deflation, try U Toronto… that one can be your safety at 1800, provided you don’t want to attend the B-school or the engineering school.

Thanks so much for the reply! Would the reach schools be a better match with a 2000 on the SAT? And I plan on majoring in psychology :)

McGill’s safety line for psychology, given your GPA, is 2050/30. But, for it to become a safety, you need at least 670 on each SAT subscore (or 26 on each ACT subscore). The verdict below assumes you will actually reach McGill’s safety line:

Brandeis: Match
BC: Match/High match
Cornell: Reach (but much lower as a reach than at 1800)
JHU: Reach
Barnard: Reach

But, as far as McGill is concerned, fall short the safety line by about 50 points and it becomes a reach.

Wow, thanks so much for putting in all this time! Besides my SAT score, what else do you think I could improve on to get a better chance?

Don’t my ecs, leadership positions, and awards help?

There’s nothing wrong with your college list; McGill is just not a college that puts weight on ECs, leadership positions or awards. However, that sort of things help you at the other colleges on your list.

Alright, so besides my SAT score, which idk I can bring up to a 2100 in the summer most likely (I haven’t been studying bc of my school work), what else do I need to get into mostly cornell and barnard?
