Chance me for Cornell ED?

I already applied but while I sit here and worry my head off I'd at least like a few people to chance me, maybe?

I'm an Asian female, and I attend a public high school that has a lot of kids with high GPAs... I feel like it's not a bad school and it offers a lot of APs. Thus, we have no class ranking because it usually hurts the student.

GPA: 93/100 unweighted, 98/105 weighted

SAT I: 2130/2400
Math = 750
Writing = 710
Reading = 670
(I understand that I'm actually under the average)

SAT II:
Math lvl 2 = 780
Physics = 750

College essays seemed pretty good, I hope I conveyed my sincere appreciation of learning and appreciation that learning is everywhere and is interconnected, etc etc... Recommendations, at least one of them, should be really good.

I don't have a LOT of extracurriculars but the ones I have are very time consuming, includes (abridged version of course):

Art portfolio (apparently really good)

Two scientific research papers (the type you submit to Siemens/Intel)

11 years of intensive ballet

Some volunteer work like student-teaching dance, etc

Oh right and before I forget, I applied to College of AS and Engineering. Heard AS is really hard to get into; I hope I at least stand a chance?

And I thiiiiink that's it for now. So, chance me? OTL

EDIT! Oh right, if it's okay, can anyone chance me for Upenn, Brown, Dartmouth, Columbia, and JHU?

You seem like a really good student for Cornell from what I have seen. Your own two disadvantages are that you are applying to the two most selective schools in Cornell and that you are Asian (sucks, but they care). Don’t count yourself out, your ballet experience is unique and your essays sounds good.

We’ll all find out together in a week and I wish you the best of luck.

Aaah yay! A reply so soon! Thanks so much :slight_smile: I do hope we get good results back; I know it’s a bit ridiculous but my happiness for the next few weeks is resting on this decision! (need to calm down, I know LOL)

Hmm, maybe I should consider applying to other schools with different majors in mind? Because being an Asian female who applies to the most competitive schools isn’t helping.

I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all! I am considering sending a letter to Santa Clause for an acceptance… well because you never know XD

I’m not even sure if you can change your schools at this point, but all I know is that those are harder to get into than CALS or Human Ecology. But if you get in, that just makes your achievement even more amazing.

Same here, everyone’s asking me what I want for Christmas, and all I can say is “ACCEPTANCE LETTER;” college has become all I can scream about for the past two weeks or so.

I think I can’t change schools for Cornell; but if I get in I’m okay with it! I meant for other schools that I plan on applying RD to, since I’m having nightmares every night about getting deferred or flat out rejected LOL!

I think you have a good chance… I think your ec’s are for sure really strong (research paper+ ballet). While your stats aren’t the top scores (as you say) they aren’t a determent to your application. Good luck!
Thank you, barvoets! Chanced back.
