I'm from San Diego, California

OSU: I think your financial situation & ethnicity may play a role here…OSU is in my backyard, and I already applied. Since they switched to the common app last year, OSU isnt a “safety” school for anyone, even for Columbus kids with great ECs, scores, essays, etc. Not to sound blunt, but unless youre a URM, low income, or fulfilling a diversity quota for Cali, its pretty iffy. Your ACT is 4 pts below the middle 50%, and OSU is notorious for going strictly off ACT scores before even looking at gpa or ECs. Just passing along what the admissions head told me. Good luck :)

I know my ACT score is low, but if I were to only submit my SAT score, they’d have to consider that right? I’m in the middle 50% for all SAT sections I think.

I think osu would definitely look at you, because they are all about having students from across the United States. 28 is only the average ACT, which means they accept students above and below that to come up with that average. Good luck!

you’re in at Boulder, but OSU could go either way
