I think that if you don’t get into those schools, the rest of us will lose all hope. I applaud you for your extreme dedication to all of your EC’s, and you deserve to get accepted. Good luck tomorrow.
@Jedelm23 Thank you. There’s steep competition within my school itself, so it’ll honestly take some luck.
Update: I was waitlisted from Brown and rejected by Columbia. 5 people got in to Columbia before decisions were released today (ED and likely letters), so there wasn’t much of a chance. I don’t know if anyone in my school got into Brown though.
These are all reaches. Taking test scores and admit rates into account (admit rates being more important; these schools all reject a lot of high-stat kids), I would say that Columbia is a hair more selective than Brown and Duke, which are a hair more selective than Rice. But as they are all reaches, I’m… splitting hairs.
Make sure you pick a few matches and at least one safety (at least a 50% admit rate…).
Darn on Brown and Columbia results! Good luck today for Duke!
@HiToWaMom Thanks. I honestly like Rice over Duke, so Im not worried, whatever happens
@metsfan7860 I feel like you have a good shot at getting into Duke lol if i were u I would def go there
@Metsfan7860 I would choose Rice. I’m not a big sports fan, not into Greek life and I like the size of the Rice student body better. Besides, Duke rejected my D years ago! Haha.
@sanjanagupta1 I’ll know in 1 hour if I do lol
@HiToWaMom I’m a huge sports fan (as my name suggests) and I love the supportive environment at Duke, but I think that Rice’s medical opportunities are such a big plus that I am really drawn to it.
Waitlisted at Duke. That makes the choice super easy I guess
Oooooh ok. Waitlist. I’m sorry… but thank you for reporting. I guess you are right. It makes your choice easy. Good luck at Rice! It’s a terrific school and you will do great there!!
No problem. I juat want this to be there in case future applicants are curious. Thank you
I hope your upcoming visit to Rice convinces you to attend. You can become an Astros fan. We have a great baseball team in Houston these days.
@Houston1021 I hope it convinces my parents to let me attend lol. No way!!! I’ve been a Metsfan for 13 of my 18 years of life. I bleed orange and blue, and will do so until I die!!!
The Astros colors are also orange and blue. They are in different leagues so you would only be conflicted if they faced off in inter league play or the World Series. Rice has a good baseball team too. Seriously, Rice would be lucky to have you attend.
