<p>Hey guys, I'm a rising junior. Penn's basically my dream school, so I'd like to see if I'm on track for it.</p>

<p>GPA: 91/100 W (School does not give us UW GPA, nor do they tell us how our weighting system works.)
SAT: My last practice test was a 2200 (760 CR, 660 M, 780 WR)
Rigor of Coursework: As rigorous as possible with the exception of one AP sophomore year
Rank: School does not rank, but by my estimate I'm like 15th in a class of 120.
Race: Caucasian
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: ~$150-200k+ per year
Location:: A very competitive public high school in Maine.
Hooks:: Legacy, Not much (if any) need for financial aid</p>

<li>Maine Youth Court, a court system based on restorative justice for youth and teens who have committed crimes. It works to divert them from the punitive court system and to give them punishments which repair the harm done to the community.</li>
<li>Playmakers, my High School's drama society.</li>
<li>Improvisational Theatre Club, the high school's club for improv comedy. (President/Founder)</li>
<li>The Young Company, the teen division of a local black box/improv theatre company.</li>
<li>Private Trumpet Study</li>
<li>Private Voice Study **</li>
<li>Model UN**</li>
</ul>

<p>Volunteering:</p>

<li>The Theater Project, teaching theater/improv skills to young/underpriveleged children at the same black box theater where I do shows</li>
<li>Just a side note, I do get volunteer credit for doing the Maine Youth Court, but it's more of an extracurricular in my eyes.</li>
</ul>

<p>Awards:</p>

<li>Berklee Jazz Judge's Choice Award, an award given by judges at the Berklee Jazz Festival to exceptional players</li>
<li>Maine Eco-Excellence Award, an award given for "outstanding contributions to ecological preservation"</li>
</ul>

<p>So, am I on track? I kind of coasted my first two years of high school, which is why my GPA is as low as it is, but I'm ready to bear down. I know it's not a bad application, but do you think it's good enough to be competitive if I'm ED+Legacy at Penn?</p>

<p>You have a streamline set of ECs, keep on finding ways to pursue theatre/improv at higher levels! You’re SAT will go up likely so don’t worry too much. But you really have to ace all your classes this year, you’re ranking is on the low side. You want atleast top 10%, and it seems you’re ready for the task. The ED might help you, although Penn isn’t known for theatre or such, you might be more interested in Columbia ED! (Slightly lower ED rate, great city of NY if you want to pursue theatre)</p>

<p>I’ve looked at Columbia and liked it, but I view it as a much higher reach than Penn simply because of the huge legacy advantage that Penn gives.</p>

<p>You have excellent stats. I’d advise you to try and bump up your GPA a little next semester, but that’s it.</p>
