I'm a rising junior, this is just to see if I'm on track.

GPA: 91/100 (Low, I know, but I'm going to work as hard as I can this year and not slack like my last two years)

SAT: The last practice test I took was 710 CR, 650 M, 780 WR. It's the second practice test I've ever done.

ECs: (I'm going to continue these but start no new ones)
- Theater (2 years)
- Jazz Band (2 years)
- Private trumpet study (8 years)
- Private voice study (2 years)
- Founder of school's Improv Comedy club (1 year)
- The Theater Project's Young Company, an improv comedy group (2 years)

Awards:
- Berklee Jazz Festival Judge's Choice award
- Maine eco-excellence award

Volunteering:
- Youth Court, for which I am a lawyer to youth and teens who either don't want to or can't afford to go through the real court system. It's based on restorative justice through community service.
- The Theater Project classes, in which I teach theater and improv skills to young children

Course Rigor:
- Freshman Year: Hardest possible
- Sophomore Year: Hardest possible with the exception of one AP class
- Junior Year: Signed up for the hardest classes possible

Hooks: Legacy, I skipped a grade (not really a hook just kind of interesting)

I'd probably apply ED as well. If I pull up my GPA/math scores, do I have a shot?

The legacy thing will help a great deal. You definitely have a shot and there’s still your junior year to show the improvement on your GPA. I know I’m thankful that admissions officers like to see improvement. Other than that, bring up your math score, win some cool awards, and write some killer essays. Good luck and no matter what happens, you can excell at whatever school you get into

Oh just kidding, this is on the Upenn forum. My bad.

Your stats and academic rigor seem on par, although you should take the real SAT soon, because practice tests and the actual thing can differ in a number of ways.
If you apply early and you have a legacy, I think you have a very good chance!

You don’t mention your geographic location. That can be a plus if you’re from an underrepresented state like Alaska or Idaho.

Legacy only helps if you apply early decision.

It may not be a weakness but your ECs are in the same general category of performance art. You don’t have any variety in your ECs (e.g., athletics, academics, leadership and artistic.). Again, I don’t know if that is a weakness but maybe someone else can give some input on that.

You don’t mention class rank but shooting for the top 10%, going for a higher GPA like you said you’re doing and adding maybe 50 points to your SAT math score will help ensure you have a highly competitive application.

I live in maine and yes, I would apply early. My school doesn’t rank but I’m probably in the top 10 or 15 percent of my grade. I’m doing all I can to improve that math grade, though.

EDIT: About my ECs, Youth Court is really more of an EC than a “volunteer” thing - think a legally binding mock trial. I have leadership within my ECs, but I have focused on theater, music, and comedy my whole life. I may row crew this year if I have time, but I won’t have much.
