<p>Essay: Unique, put quite a lot of effort; Focused on the fact that I spent lots of time with children/youth (EC list is heavily based on youth involvement as you can see) and how helping out at the dyslexic kids program spurred my maturation and creativity -> but this is only a small part of the essay. its mainly an extended metaphor. well-written.<br>
Why Columbia paragraph: not too typical
EC paragraph: talked about how i organized a school-wide film presentation to raise awareness of the child soldiers in uganda and how i contacted one of the ugandan schools and actually brought a student to canada. initiated a face-to-face conference that involved 800 students in total (90% of school population)
also mentioned most students who attended the presentation continued to be interested -> formed the fundraising club which now involves 75studnets and i hold the presidency. (biggst club in school)</p>
<p>Ref: both good
Counselor: excellent</p>
<p>Eth: Korean / Came to Canada 6yrs ago (canadian citizen, so im not considered as an international student)
No legacy</p>
<p>i am worried about my SAT score. (very, very low for Columbia, i know)
but hoping that my ECs and awards and GPA would cover it up?
i mean they cant look at that one exam and decide everything...right? : (</p>
<p>please chance me and any comment is welcome</p>
