Chance me for Engineering at Stanford, Caltech, MIT, 4.0 gpa, 36 ACT, horrible EC's

Hey everyone I've been a lurker on CC for awhile now and figured I'd make an account since I'm in the last leg of my highschool life, the mighty beast, senior year.
What would you guys chance me at Stanford, Caltech, MIT, and Cooper Union? Im super scared because of my awful EC's, how do I not make myself sound like that kid that just spends all his time studying?
I intend to major in compsci or EE.

Teacher Recs will be decent because of grades, but never really connected with any teacher.

Wow I wonder what you must do with your free time. What have you done throughout middle school that translated into something in high school? Anything? It’s disappointing to see such an academically strong student that will struggle at all the top schools because of lack of ECs.

Can you volunteer more to add some more volunteer hours?
What do you do in your free time? Is there some stuff you do that you may not think counts as an EC?

I wouldn’t say that you have horrible extracurriculars.

By no means are they amazing, nor are they the quality of top schools. However, saying that they are horrible is going a bit too far. Do you have any awards for S.O. or robotics or math team or anything? Having awards would help a lot.

While your extracurriculars are below par for the schools you are applying to, they absolutely will not rule you out.

Just out of curiosity, if you school doesn’t weight, and you have a 4.0, how are you not valedictorian?

I’m guessing OP spend lots of time gaming, programming or other activities.
Your essays, gpa, and test scores will get you in a tippy top school.
Not so sure if that school is listed above in the title.

valedictorian isn’t announced until the end of senior year!

Unfortunately I didn’t do too well in any academic competitions to get any notable awards…
You would be right on the gaming part, a lot of free time was spent just chilling with friends or gaming haha

wow i regret not doing more stuff over the summer, I juts considered it chillax time from the school year. I should have done a summer program or something

You must have chillax parents.
At least your tiger parent would be nagging you to do significant ECs to round out your transcript.

ehh my parents are okay, mom is a 2nd generation asian so she’s not that asian tiger mom, dad is usually too busy.

I feel the same way regarding not doing much during the summer. Now I don’t have the scores you have, but I wish I took E.C’s more seriously.

ill try signing up for more volunteerwork at hospital to get some last minute hours in haha

I think letters of rec and seriously make an application. So not connection with a teacher may be bad. I think they are reaches obviously, but I think such good AP scores and subject test scores will work in your favor. Hopefully you can write an amazing essay. But the lack of EC strength will definitely make admittance to these universities a challenge.

Would you be willing to chance me back? I’m really looking for some more input. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1544406-chance-me-please-duke-notre-dame-johns-hopkins-etc-ill-chance-you-back.html

honestly I don’t think they are bad or even to the extent horrible. Although ECs may not be your strong suit everything else does work to your favor. I think you are a strong applicant although all four schools will still be reaches.
Chance back?
