Chance me for engineering?

In State
Race: Asian
Major: Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
GPA: UW - 3.8; W - 4.5
SAT: 1980 (690 M, 680 W, 610 R)
SAT IIs: Math 2 - 730, US History - 670
Rank: 21/846 (One of most competitive high schools in Southern California).

APs: 14 of the hardest AP classes my school has to offer (Euro, Chem, US, Physics, Art History, Calculus, Lang/Comp, Macro/Micro Econ, US/Comp Gov, French, Stats, Literature, Biology)

Normal amount of ECs and Community Service

I am part of ELC, and I have been guaranteed a spot in all UC's except LA, SD, and Berkeley. But SD sent a letter saying they would like me to apply and would stand a good chance in getting admitted, but I want to go directly into engineering.

any leadership and stuff like that?>
you should be in cuz of your GPA and ELC and SAT
[ucsd score](http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pKB1yD5iQn_8wqH5bhMkhZw)

see how many points you get… over 8000+ is almost certainly an in… but not 100% sure …
be sure to chance yourself conservatively dont give point you think you deserve, but points you can back up with… what i mean is if you have 199 hours of volunteering you get 150 point not 300… things like that…

one question: how did you manage to get a 4.5 W gpa and a 3.8 unweighted… thats damn amazing.

i have a UC gpa of 4.25
and thats with 10 total AP classes 10-12… (and only 1 stupid B… grrrrrr :P) but iof i had the A, i would have had a 4.28
im not saying its wrong but its making me a bit curious…

maybe post the did you give only 8 extra points for AP/Honors?

EDIT: it hit now lol! is this your UC GPA? the UC’s only want the GPA from the total A-G courses taken during 10 + 11th grade… but you get up to 8 bonus points for the AP / honor classes (so 1 AP/H = 1 point, etc.)

maybe post it on CC?

Electrical engineering isn’t impacted while mechanical is. Also, I find the comment “14 of the hardest AP classes my school has to offer” somewhat hilarious since my school only offered 6 AP classes total. Anyway, I think you’ll get in for ME.

What is your UC GPA? Because it is most certainly not 4.5
