I know my freshman years grades sucked and that has affected my total gpa HOWEVER there is a significant increase in GPA since then..do you think admissions would consider this growth as an advantage??

I suggest not reporting that 1 on Comp Sci. It might hurt you. Do you go to Thomas Jefferson, if so that might explain the low gpa’s. Keep in mind that theres plenty of people with the same SAT’s, and higher GPA’s than you. And they all look the same on paper: aspiring doctors who’ve been fed everything by their parents. Parents drive nice cars and live in a nice house in Potomac or Bowie. (MD) IMO, those are the type of people that colleges avoid. They want someone unique, that had to work to get where they are. Someone who used their resources to the fullest. I don’t know your life story but if its a good one, make sure to note that all over your essay. I’m an Electrical Engineering, Pre Med in the Class of 2013. Again, you don’t need to be bio or neuroscience to get into med school. I’ll just be exploring another one of my interests while fulfilling pre med requirements. Hope you can use the advice. You can never aim too high, like me.
