BASED ON THIS WHAT SHOULD MY SSAT PERCENTILE BE TO BE ACCEPTED?

Chances?

Suggestions on how to do better?
Thanks!

I have seen you earlier threads and I disagree with the guy who told you to leave out being Jewish. I think it sets you apart from the lengthy list of highly qualified white males. I am also Jewish and hope to see you at Exeter our freshman year. Also, do you attend a Jewish school because of the lack of ECs . I attended one in my earlier years and we had no ECs, but now attend a day school. Just looking out for you bro!

No, I go to a day school that does not offer EC’s, but I do not see my EC’s as lacking; are they?

I don’t think your ECs are lacking, but you need something to separate you from the crowd. Take for instance, Hebrew. As part of your knowledge of Hebrew you could discuss faith and any studying you did with Hebrew such as a bar-mitzvah, or any kind of Sunday school, which would add diversity to your app. Perhaps even translations of Hebrew texts. I go to a day school were there are few Jews, you learn everything about debating from defending Israel.

I have planned to do this on the essays! Thanks! And I think I left out an EC because I wrote from memory

Thanks Again!

Suggestions:

-Mention community service (even if it’s from a long time ago). This will help Exeter think that you will contribute to their community.
-Does your school offer a play of some sort? If so, have you participated in it? Despite Exeter’s reputation as an all math school, they want to see you be well-rounded (guitar is a good thing, make sure to put that in there).
-Put things that show your enthusiasm of Exeter. While saying that your school does not offer EC’s, you would be more than excited to try the EC’s at Exeter.

Chances:
If your SSAT scores are good (85% +) you have a good shot. Best of luck.

Thanks! Hope to see You at Exeter (If You are applying)!

u have a pretty good application! just missing some community service and artsy stuff. that sucks that ur school doesn’t have any ECs…

Thanks! Good luck to You!

On the SSAT question: I talked to my tour guide in Exeter, and she told me that most the students in Exeter have a score of about 80 and up. However, my interviewer told me that they don’t usually reject someone’s application based only on SSAT scores.

Good luck!

Thanks-To You too! Can You chance me? Thanks!

I think you have a fairly good chance, especially if you do well with the essays. The fact that there are no ECs at your school is unfortunate, but speaking Hebrew, I think, makes you stand out. But anyway, the essays are supposedly really important, so if you write well, you should have a good chance.

I am Submitting 2 Essays that I recieved a 100 on. I wrote about the passions that I have etc… And The “fact” that I am mature and responsible, etc…

I think you’re a good applicant buy there’s no real hook for. I’m not trying to be mean or anything like that. It’s just my opinion. I know it’s hard to stand out from the crowd. Also you’re grades from 8th grade seemed to have dropped slightly or remained the same from 7th grade (with the exception of math) I think your essays will have to really be good.

Well a lot of applicants and people who have been accepted into Exeter, etc… Told me that it is a hook, and it is. I am also Jewish, which makes the hook stronger. You are correct about the math grade but its an A. She told me that her Recommendation was Excellent, though. (No Offense) I hope I get in!

Can Someone else chance me? Thanks

You have excellent grades and good ecs so I would say you have a good chance of getting in! If possible, try to do some community service or get involved in some sort of art, just to make you more well-rounded. You sound like a great applicant, best of luck!
Also, if you get a chance, could you chance me back? Thanks!

You have a good chance, especially with all of the sports, they’re big on that. SSATs aren’t weighted heavily at all (last thing that they look at) ideally they should be above 80%, that’s considered rock bottom, so the best would be above a 90%, especially because that’s the average for Exeter.
