Chance me for Exeter!

Hi everyone! Can you chance me for Exeter? I don’t wanna be to specific b/c I am anxious being on this platform to begin with but could use some wise words.

I am applying to repeat a grade and am already coming from boarding school.

At Exeter, I went to the summer program and got high grades.

Right now, I am taking multiple AP’s right now and have mostly A’s expect a low grade in AP Calc which is super unfortunate. My past two years my boarding school did not have GPA or AP’s but our courses were challenging.

Extracurriculars

  • I am the founder of an organization with more than 25 members
  • Attended a research summer program for multiple years all on academic scholarships
  • Have taken courses online at a top ranked University for credit
  • Conducted a research study on an obscure topic relating to health (don’t wanna be too specific) and interviewed researchers on the subject matter in the form of a podcast (again, don’t wanna be too specific)
  • Started an affinity space on campus and led a school wide workshop on a topic relating to the area of focus of our affinity space
  • Owner of a small business for 5+ yrs
  • Recipient of writing awards x2
  • Take a course at a prestigious university known specifically for that course
  • Two internships under my belt

I consider myself a solid writer and think my interview went well (but yet most of us do).

Thanks!

Also, yes, I noticed by spelling errors and credit them to simultaneously writing an English paper!

I’m not an admission officer so take my words with a grain of salt, but your application looks great!

Are you only applying for Exeter? It’s a highly competitive school so if you want a higher chance of going to boarding school next year, do cast a wider net.

Honestly you’ve done so much I wonder when you go to sleep lol. Good luck, I do think you’ll do great.

The OP mentioned that they already attend a boarding school.

Anyways, every time I see résumés like this, I’m shocked—I don’t think that even I, as a junior at my school, am this accomplished. You’re amazingly qualified, so it’ll come down to interviews and essays. Good luck!

Yeah that was my bad, apologies OP. Once again OP, good luck with the application!

I will give you credit for being very descriptive and very vague at the same time. Kudos, and I genuinely mean that. It shows you are responsible enough about your confidentiality but wise enough to know what’s relevant enough to be disclosed in a public website. Well done.

I am assuming your grades are very good and that you (PROBABLY) took the SSAT or ISEE, unless PEA is TO this year? Write good essays and have strong LoRs, but most of all show enthusiasm for Exeter and that you REALLY want to go there. That will go a long way.

Put all that together, you probably have a good shot. Of course, as you go up in grades, there are fewer spots, but you sound like an applicant with a great future.

Best of luck in achieving this and your dreams!
