Intended Major: Computer Science
How do I stand in terms of other Georgia Tech Applicants?
Thank you very much for your time and feedback!
You are qualified which means you have a 19% percent chance, as that is their acceptance rate for out of state applicants.
You should apply by Oct 15 to GaTech, for the best chance. The OOS admission rate is way below 19% for Regular Decision but EA is a better bet as you are Asian and male. You look very strong to me, good job on your test scores. Computer science is a popular major so its not predictable, but now about half the undergrads in computer science come from OOS so I think you have a shot at it. Apply to Purdue U as well, its easier to get in, and similar curriculum. U of Maryland is another fit for you. apply to SUNY Buffalo as backup, or your favorite SUNY, as you are sure to get into any of them. Its so ridiculously hard to get into computer science programs, but you have a very good chance I believe, at Gatech, Purdue and U of Maryland, all of which are about the same for quality, co ops, and job placement.
I thought there are no differences in terms of chances for EA, ED, and Regular. Do you care to explain?

@Vigilente for OOS applicants, a much larger % get into GaTech if they apply EA. I think its 19% versus 8%. Find the Common Data set. For in state applicants, a much higher percentage get accepted. So many students apply RD and then the school has essentially filled up its OOS quota. GaTech still must accept a minimum percentage of Georgia students, by Georgia Law. Because so many OOS student are vying for merit, they are mostly applying early and those slots fill up. While they do not admit by major ,they do look at it to not overcrowd CS for instance, even more than it already is oversubscribed. GaTech handles the size of CS well, but limits enrollment in some CS classes to majors and certain threads inside of CS (intelligence, theory etc )
