Chance me for GT? Low GPA upward trend great standardized testing!

I attend an extremely rigorous high school in California. Low overall, big upward trend.

Soph: 3.0 (3.2 W) /2.7 (2.8 W) - 1 weighted (1 AP)
Junior: 3.67/3.67 [4.2 Weighted] - 3 Weighted (3 AP)
Senior year: 3.67+ [4.3+ Weighted] - 4 Weighted (4 AP)

Took Intro to Comp Sci and Programming in C at a community college over the summer, got A's in both.

Computer Science Major

UC Weighted (Soph + Junior year only) GPA - 3.62

SAT + ACT Superscore:
36 ACT Math - 800
35 ACT English - ~780

730 SAT Writing - 730

2310

SAT II:
Math Level 2: 790

Extracurriculars:
- 150+ hours (2 years as teen tech volunteer at library)
- DECA - Won 3rd for math marketing in Nor Cal, and 4th for presentation, 8th overall for Advertising Campaign at states

- Blogged on website about mobile apps for 2 years

** The upward trend was caused when I visited India and realized I'm taking everything for granted. I realized I needed to make the most of my situation, and thus I started applying myself junior year.

** I will try to highlight my passion for technology in my application, via essays or whatever. I express my passion for technology via YouTube and help thousands of people on a daily basis. So far, I've got over 2,900 subscribers and 1.29 million views.

What do you guys think about my chances at Georgia Tech? I'd really love to go as it has a great engineering program but am super nervous as to whether I'll get in or not.

There is no such thing as “SAT + ACT” superscore…

Your ACT composite is 33 and your SAT is 2120. No school will combine those and consider you as having a 2310. They will consider you as having an ACT 33 and a SAT of 2120…

^Georgia Tech does. That’s common knowledge if you’re applying to tech lol.

I’d say you have a good shot.

GA Tech does “super duper score” combining the best of math and english/writing ACT and SAT - it’s stated on their admissions website.

Yep - I got it straight off of their website. They want:

-ACT/SAT Math
-ACT English/SAT CR

-ACT Eng+Writing/SAT Writing

2310 for me. Yeah, big difference they’re taking all my good scores, except Writing -_-.

Good to hear, Napalm. Anyone has have any opinion as to whether I have a chance or not?

I’m not real keen on these “chance” requests because they really don’t do anything but give people hope or false hope or reinforce what they already know. I have been told by several people (some knowledgeable about GT Admissions, some just know a lot of stuff) that you really can’t determine who gets in by #'s at Tech. The essays count A LOT toward admission…in addition to other factors which according to one guidance counselor is they throw all admissions w/ the right numbers in the air and which ever ones fall on this side of the line get in and those that fall on the other side don’t. I know this is not true but if you go back and look at posts from last year and prior it’s difficult to figure out how some were admitted and others weren’t. Of course, you don’t see the whole resume with numbers only. As far as your numbers go, they look good and showing a desire to work hard and bring your grades up shows in your GPA. I do wish you luck and hope you get admitted!

Thanks so much three. I hope I get in too, it’s only 35k for OOS students compared to UIUC/UT Austin’s 45-50k range.
