<p>I have applied to The George Washington University under early decision 2. I selected political communications as my major in the school of media and public affairs. I am from a small town in Louisiana but I attend a college preparatory/boarding school. My dad died when I was two years old and my mom has been a single mother since then, she is a middle school math teacher.
Stats:
ACT: 27 (low, I know)
GPA: 3.66
ECs: speech and debate (president, four years), 4-H (four years), Louisiana environmental ambassador (three years), math club (two years), art club (vice president, two years)</p>

<p>All of my classes since freshman year are listed as college level on my transcript. </p>

<p>Any input would be greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>I did show interest. I’ve visited twice over my high school career and I wrote my essay around how GW was the only school I could see myself at. After all, it is my first choice which is why I’m applying early decision.</p>

<p>I do have safeties. I’ve applied to nine schools total and have been accepted to six of those so far. I’m just waiting for GW, Northeastern and Hendrix. GW is just my first choice.</p>

<p>Why would you say that I have a better chance at Northeastern than at GWU? Northeastern’s average ACT is higher than GW’s and their acceptance rates are about the same. I’m just curious as to why I might have a better chance at Northeastern</p>

<p>I believe it’s a GPA issue. Or perhaps I should put NEU as a reach, too. But both NEU and GWU are reachable.</p>

<p>Teacher Rec: 3- very good ( 2 teachers had for 2 years, 1 had for 1 year)</p>
