As a talented international student what country you are from is important. Academic rigor is important. By far China and India have the greatest number of international students applying to these schools. The schools cap international admissions at maybe 15% of the total and they like a broad number of countries to be represented
Being from India is going to hurt you. Sorry, but it’s just the truth. You’re qualified to get into any of these schools, but you’ll have the some of the greatest competition out of any applicants. It’s just a hard reality. These are all crapshoots for you.
@CR7yolo I agree with jarrett211; while your stats are good, all of those schools are crapshoots, especially coming from India or China or other competitive countries. Probabilistically speaking, I think at least one of the schools should accept you. But the best solution is to wait.
Also, since you mentioned six out of eight Ivies, you can shorten your title by listing the schools within the post itself.
Definitely qualified, but again, acceptance rates for international students are about half of the usual acceptance rate – at Harvard or Stanford, this would be 3%, and being from India doesn’t help. Ivy admissions are a crapshoot, so it’s difficult to chance no matter how impressive your stats are.
The answers won’t change. Your chances are very limited.
You picked the hardest schools to try to gain admission, and being international doesn’t help.
I have to agree with everyone else: thousands of you countrymen want to come to the US and a majority of them want to study in the STEM fields. Your stats and EC’s look similar to all of your countrymen; take a look on this website and posts from your peers.
Oh, and “school awards” don’t make that much of a difference.
You might have a good chance, but I have a question. What is your SAT I Score?
Did you get any interview call or email from Harvard? Did you get interview from Princeton till now?
Moreover, not to hurt you brother, but I have one view point to your profile.
Considering the fact and place you come from, I certainly more than achievements, the ratio of achievements to available opportunity matters. For example, if a cricketers builds his own career and makes fame, he will more appreciated then the one who inherited fame. Please do not go by example, I just wanted to clarify my point stated above.
@MITer94 I got an email from Harvard stating that they will soon provide me name and phone number of interviewer, an email I received on January 22nd, yet I haven’t received further emails from them. I do not want to contact my Harvard’s Admissions Office, I fear that might not look good, please suggest something.
