Chance me for IVY, Top state colleges, Dental colleges

Bad English alert! This is my second year in the states. That's my excuse.

Chance me for IVY schools, some top state colleges, and dental colleges!
I've considered Human Ecology of Cornell and many other.
I don't think I stand a chance for the top Ivy schools; be honest with me please.
For the most part, I'm ready for any majors. Though my records show that I'm into much math and science materials, I might as well end up in some business school. (Yes, that does imply that I'm highly interested in business schools)

Okay, where to start. I'm an international (S.Korean) and have been living in VA for 2 years now. I go to a regular public school in a quite rural area. I'm becoming a senior.

-I just got my June SAT scores. RC 760 MATH 800 W 740.
This is my second SAT, after a 2160 (710 800 650) from March.

-Haven't taken any SAT2s yet, I'm preparing to take MATH2C and Physics this October. Most likely a 800 on math and maybe at around 750~800 for Physics. I have never taken any physics--self-taught for the most part. Should I consider taking the SAT Chemistry too? (have to teach myself since I only have taken Chem 1 Honors) I mean, should 2 SAT Subject Tests be enough if I'm sure I'd get high scores on them?

-My GPA is at around 3.75 (unweighted)
Not sure about the weighted GPA.
Horrendous as it might seem, my GPA is low only because of my freshman year from korea--ever since I've come to America I got straight A's, received the award for having the highest average for the year.
GPA killed my school class rank; I'm barely in the top 25% level.
----> I hear that the GPA for the freshman year isn't nearly as important as that of sophomore year or junior year. Is this true?

-My school didn't offer any "honor" or "AP" or any kind of rigorous classes in my freshman year nor my sophomore year. Took all honors classes and AP Calculus AB for Junior year. (the only other AP offered was US history, which I avoided.) Will be taking AP Physics(online), AP Government, AP Literature, Linear Algebra/Vector Calculus, General Biology (college level) for my senior year. I'm very dedicated; most likely I'd receive A's for my senior year classes.

-->I go to my homeschool for the afternoon; in the mornings I go to this governor school for science and math. They only pick out 4~8 students per school and I will be one of them next year. Classes like Linear Algebra/Vector Calculus and General Biology are the kind of classes offered there. Wonder if this would help.

-Far from "impressive" Extra curricular activities; Founder/President of Math club, Vice President of 4H Club, Cross Country Team Varsity, Indoor Track Team Varisty, 1st chair clarinet player for band 2 years, NHS member (hopefully president for next year), and ACE Team Varsity... insignificant for the most part.

-Volunteered at a local library (translating into korean.) have around 100 hours total.

-Local/school awards for the most part.. national latin exam (silver) AIME contestant (national).... local sonata contest(local) 1st place.. school science fair 3rd place (school)

I could really use some financial aid. Both my parents having retired, we basically have NO income. Consider this too..

What are my chances? With this record, would any college be willing to accept me for sure? I'd like to know my "reach" colleges as well.

If necessary I'm willing to go for ED. Of course, I'll be applying EAs for many other colleges at the same time. If accepted, would I be able to get any financial aid? Any advices?

Thanks a bunch.

I just found out that Dartmouth is need-blind for international applicants.
Very selective though, I know.
Along with the surfeit of questions already listed above, yet another question for you guys: what are my chances if I EDed Dartmouth?

Yes, if you get desirable scores on them, they are enough as long as you’re not going to apply to Georgetown, which is arguably the only school that require three SATIIs these days.

It’s fine, I think. I only took one AP by the time I was applying to college last year (APUSH), and I got into my top choices. In fact, I didn’t even get to take Calc until senior year. Having more AP classes will definitely give one an advantage though, and most people who apply to very selective schools have taken at least several APs by the time of college applications… but usually colleges try to view your profile from the context of your school =).

Usually, one only apply ED to a school if s/he is not looking for a good financial aid package. Once you apply ED, you’re committed to attending Dartmouth and will not be able to compare FA from different schools.

^^ That’d be really nice. I mean colleges reviewing my school profile and all. Thanks a lot!!
As for the SAT Subject Tests, I will not be taking a third test, thanks again!!

If I’m not mistaken, once I check off the FA box, I either get FA according to my needs (once I’m accepted) or not get accepted at all. I mean could they accept me and not give Financial Aid after I have requested it?

^“Need” in financial aid is determined by the college, not by the family of the applicant, and family assets (savings, property) are also factored into aid calculations. The college may offer you a financial aid package that may not be as generous as you might have hoped for. Have you checked out Dartmouth’s FA policies? I think last year it was full tuition for those with income under $75,000, but I think there might have been a recent change.

As for need blind and full need schools, you can find a full list of them on this wikipedia article:

[Need-blind admission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Need-blind admission - Wikipedia)

^ Hmm… If I ever get accepted, I believe I qualify for the full tuition. My family basically has no income. Now the problem is, with my records, do I stand any chance. (Dartmouth ED)
I hear their president is a S.Korean! haha

bump :S
Thanks!!

I narrowed down a bit according to some information I’ve gathered so far:

What are my chances if I were to ED Dartmouth? ED or RD Amherst? EA Chicago?

Your scores are amazing but as u know it is harder for international students. I think you have a great chance at Dartmouth, Amherst, and Chicago. ED/EA would be very helpful, if you can take the chance with financial aid.

Good Luck

Thanks! Dartmouth it is.
