Questions: Would it be more advantageous for me to apply ED rather than RD? And how much more advantageous?

Would it be more advantageous to apply for an engineering major other than Biological/Biomedical engineering?

Note: Sorry for the crappy formatting, lost the template I made before xD

I heard that applying ED is much much much more advantageous than RD.
I have a question, I see your course load and you’ve only made 2 B’s… so why is your unweighted GPA just 3.69?

Very good chance ED I think

where the coffee

Ethnicity: Asian. What type of Asian as a URM?

Your stats are fine, and in line with most kids who get in. Just take hard classes and do well.

OK, I bit, now where’s the coffee?

It’s JohnSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. And applying ED will be pointless if it isn’t actually your first choice because if you get in, you’re stuck. If you have any qualms about applying ED (and it seems you might), don’t.

Ever wonder if the readers immediately reject anyone that forgets the “S”. LOL.

LOL **** oops i meant JohnSSS Hopkins :P

I think you’re in ED, you’re rejected RD. drinks coffee

Re: the question of applying BME vs another engineering major

If you’re interested in BME, apply BME. The BME program is the only major at Hopkins with capped admissions. The way that the admissions process works is that all applicants are considered for admission to the university and of those accepted, the ones who applied for the BME program are considered for the program. It’s entirely possible to apply BME and get into the University but not into the BME program. If you apply ED for BME and only get into the University, you have to decide by the ED reply deadline if you’ll accept the admission to the University by the ED reply deadline (ie you’re not bound to the ED contract, but you still have to decide by Jan 15 if you’ll be coming to Hopkins)

-tanman (BME Alum '09)

@tanman: thanks for the informative answer! I didnt know that haha

@WealthOfInformation: Is the different in acceptance that wide: that one is IN and one is REJECT? haha

Anyone else wanna give it a shot? :D

Yes, the gap is that wide. Last year, ED was around 40% and RD was below 20%.

oo kk thanks! anyone else want to chance me? :P

yea umm…you won’t get in to Johns Hopkins. but apply to John Hopkins. they might accept you.

@jhuapplicant: -__-" lol thanks

same stats but gpa is a 3.58… can i get in?

^^ maybe in ED. Doubtful in RD.
