New to This! Chance me!

i made an account here just for this purpose. Johns Hopkins has always been a dream school for both undergrad and grad for med. i've been considering my chances, and cant get a very clear idea. Also, i cant decide which would help me more: applying ED or RD.

SAT: 1810 (690 math, 550 writing, 570 CR, definately retaking as this was my first time)
Subject tests: 800 Chem, 800 Bio, 740 Math II
ACT: still need to take
GPA: UW 3.5, do not know weighted.
AP: chem 5, bio 5
Rank: 12-17/102, very small public school and the school messed up ranks, but im between there.

intended major(s): neuroscience and/or biomedical engineering
Reccomendations: 4 total if needed, 1 absolutely amazing, 2 amazing, and 1 decent (3 from science teachers, 1 from counselor)

if it helps, i come frown a lower-middle class family and would be the first to be going to college, and i'm white.

ECs: very weak, sadly.

Stats
two periods I'll be teaching and instructing AP chem and lab, most likely AP Bio as well.
Also, during second semester ill be taking Dual-Enrollment classes, either Organic Chem I or Intro to analytical chem

sadly, like i said before, i come from an incredibly small and relatively unknown public school. it, and its three surrounding communities, are slowly dying and there's not much to do here to get involved. we barely offer AP classes like other schools, and only offer AP Calc AB, chem, bio, gov't, and english. that, and my class rank, has me worried a great deal. my counselor already told me she will try and explain my class rank and transcript in comparision to our current valedictorian, but im still worried.

chances please? will return.

To be blunt: I gotta tell you, this is not a promising scenario for Johns Hopkins. Your grades are not high enough, your SATs are not high enough, and your ECs are, by your own description, weak.

Apply, but also choose some realistic schools who would be glad and lucky to have you.
I think ED is always a better bet, but if you need FA, that may not work out for you.

Sorry, but low chance at JHU.

Sorry tm, I would have to say low chance also. Your SAT II scores in Chem and Bio are FANTASTIC-- Perfecto-- wow! Strong math score also. Re-taking the SAT and taking an ACT should help. Your GPA is good but probably not good enough for JHU. Come up with some schools that are more in allignment with your stats. JHU is simply a VERY high reach. Keep it as your dream/reach and have some other schools that are low reaches, matches, and safeties. Talk to your GC first thing when you get back to school. In the meantime start another post asking for suggestions. St. Mary’s College MD is a very nice little school, as an example.

Most likely rejection due to relatively low GPA, sub-par SAT score, and somewhat mediocre course load.

Definitely ED.
