About Me (if it matters):
White female from LI. Super competitive HS. Family income is about $120K-$130K.

I know UT cares a lot about rank, but my school doesn't rank. I'd say I'm in the top 20% (possibly higher,) but like I previously stated, my high school is extremely competitive.

You are from LI? Where is that?

She probably mistyped IL.

No I’m from Long Island lol (New York)

well UT takes top 10% of freshmen from Texas high school. Being out of state just makes it more difficult … It’s not fair but it’s true … I think 90% of students accepted are from Texas so you would really have to stand out to get into such a competitive school! good luck! I think you should still try but at the same time have other options.

Hi, smartfox, UT will assign you an estimated rank based on the information your counselor provides. Non-ranking schools: If your high school does not rank class members, include with your transcript a statement from your school about its policy, a copy of your school’s profile, and a GPA or grade distribution.

As was indicated, OOS admissions is very competitive. Be sure you read through the admissions section on the McCombs website as well as on Be A Longhorn. Good luck!

Smartfox, are you gonna apply August or after your new SAT/ACT scores come in?
