To answer your question about your AP score:
What colleges don’t know cannot hurt you. Given that you get to submit your AP scores to the schools directly, if you feel a 3 is not going to positively influence your chances (and at the level of schools you are applying to it probably will not) then exclude it from your application! AP scores were created to show college readiness and make you a MORE competitive candidate, so don’t allow them to hold you back.

Good luck with your application!

OMG scioly! Do you do it too, or did you just help out at the middle school? (Lol scioly >>> everything imo ^ . ^)

All of your grades and test scores are really good, so you’re not going to have any trouble there! A 3 on one AP exam isn’t going to affect anything, I don’t think, especially since AP scores are self-reported anyways…I feel like anything self-reported wouldn’t be taken too heavily into account. You seem to be super well rounded, too. Strong ECs that all have a lot in common, which shows passion, and leadership positions, which shows initiative and leadership (duh :D). Also your awards are really impressive and I’m high key intimidated and v impressed (lol I’m feeling extra mediocre now haha). I think you have a good chance at ANY college (I’d say UMich is almost certain). UChigaco has a really strong economics department, right? You seem to stand out a lot in that area, so I think you have a pretty good shot there too! I wouldn’t worry about your qualifications - I think they’re amazing!

(Take what I say with a grain of salt though, because honestly, I am clueless xD)

Thanks so much for replying!

I did scio during middle school but I wasn’t able to make the A team in my school in my 9th and 10th grade so I quit (scio is super competetive in my school).

As for my major, I am interested in both finance and engineering, and I want to apply for a duel-major program for both business and engineering. I think Penn has a really competetive one and some other schools have them as well.

Again, it was great to hear your thoughts!

Wow. Just wow. Forget college, you’ll succeed wherever you go. However, you have one of the best shots I have seen on CC at getting into these schools, and if you dont, it’s a ‘them’ problem. Good for you!
Could you chance me back- Id like to be a peer someday?

Your grades and test scores are above average even for an ivy league school, so you definitely have a shot. Since you want to major in Economics, you should spend your summer writing a paper in the ‘Economics of STEM for teenagers’ or something of the sort. It could be a major talking point in your application.

If everything you listed above is true, you should know the answer. YOLO!

Thanks so much for the thoughts guys!

The thing I’m worried about is that I know a few kids from my school and many other out there that have similar or even better EC’s than I do. Also, I’m worried about if my 3 on the AP exam will have any effects on my chances?
