Chance me for Northeastern (ED? Maybe), George Washington University, American University, and BU

@TomSrOfBoston Thank you so much for the advice! I will definitely tell my recommenders that!
And I followed the NEU decision thread since it opened seeing what this year would be like. Boy did it scare me, I just have to hope for the best. Although, it seemed like the early decision acceptances were much more generous, I hope that means good news for me!

I think you have a pretty good shot at all of those colleges, but I would take the ACT again, bump up your GPA, and maybe get another leadership role in one of your clubs? I also wouldn’t apply ED to any schools…

Also, non of them are safeties so I would suggest applying to at least 2 safety schools.

@mhg749 why do you say do not apply ED?

ED is binding, so if they don’t offer a good package, you’re forced to go there anyways. I mean, unless you’re well off financially, you should just go for EA.

@mhg749 I have worked a lot and saved a ton of money on my own. My parents are pretty well off, along with loans I’ll take out and such, ED is definitely a thing I can and probably will do. Northeastern is a school I am very passionate about, it is literally my name on this website.

Are you sure you are not thinking of Northwestern, Northeastern has a 32% according to about education.com while Northwestern has around a 14% acceptance rate. @NickFlynn

@jman457 Well, honestly, Northeastern is getting very competitive. The acceptance rate this year was 28%, it keeps going down. Ugh. I do not want to admit it, but it is true.

You’ll get into BU and GW but American will probably wait list you for yield protection. Northeastern is a reach based on this past years acceptances but you have a slight chance, most likely a deferral to a denial. That’s what they gave me with similar stats. I was wait listed at both GW and American with a 3.6 and 2070. Hope this helps.
