Also, do I meet academic guidelines for the EOP programs?

If money is that tight, can we assume you’ll be getting the Excelsior Scholarship?

If so, then concentrate on those SUNY/CUNY schools— and forget about dorming anywhere. Given the numbers you’ve stated-- and the fact that you attend school in NYC-- I would be looking at the CUNY schools you can commute to and forget the others. The $12000 or so you would be paying for a dorm are half your family’s annual income-- so absolutely out of the question.

Thanks for the reply. I will be getting the Excelsior Scholarship and concentrating on the SUNY/CUNY schools. Do you happen to know if I would be eligible for the SEEK/EOP programs at the SUNY/CUNY schools? Also, how are my chances looking for them?

I’m so NOT the right person for those questions.

But I would omit the Buffalo/StonyBrook (unless you’re a at least central Nassau, which doesn’t sound likely) Binghamton, Albany, ESU… schools.

Likewise the privates you list… Excelsior won’t come anywhere near close to tuition, much less room and board.

This is all about getting a degree so you can then be what you want to be.
