Schools I’m interested in; SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Binghamton.
I’m planning to major in biochemistry.
Can you guys please recommend some good fits for me to apply to.
Those 3 schools are perfectly fine assuming you’re a New York resident.
I would be careful though since there is a major disconnect between the GPA and the test scores. You could be viewed as a ‘slacker.’
Try some state schools like Arizona, ASU, Utah, or Alabama.
Can you beat that SUNY cost? Is affordability an issue ? You have 3 great choices. My own kids have attended SUNY schools and I’m very familiar with.all of these…
Give us a bit more info, particularly regarding what your family are willing and able to pay, what your EFC and NPC estimated are for these schools. Maybe throw a few Private schools into the mix and run costs on them, i suggest Clark, St Lawrence, Union, Hofstra , Clarkson, Hartwick, Hobart William Smith just to name a few. Maybe some College that Change Lives type schools. Are you trying to stay in the NY state area? Are large state schools something you’d consider? Smaller Liberal arts colleges more your thing? Catholic schools ok in the mix?
Money isn’t too much of an issue; I can handle up to about 70K. My parents make decent money so I think I’ll be paying full cost. I’m ok with leaving NY but I would prefer to stay in the northeast.
I’m also thinking about applying to a bunch of reach schools in the area like Colgate, University of Rochester, Boston University and more along those lines. Maybe one of them will accept me idk.
I’m ok with all schools: Large state schools. smaller liberal arts colleges and catholic schools.
I also have a really steep upward trend. Didn’t really care about school in 9th grade.
Freshman 3.0, Sophmore 3.5, Junior 3.95
So maybe that will help me,
