Everything looks really good except your act reading (lol I did the same thing) and your subject tests are meh (in terms of ivies). Also, you have a ****ton of ecs and service, but is there one thing that you really put a lot of effort into? When it comes to ivies, the best thing for ecs is to pick a passion and put as much effort into it as you can. Unfortunately, I didn’t really do that, but I’ve tried to put more effort into the ecs I’m already in, which is something to consider doing. NYU is probably a low match/safety, while the ivies are reaches. Realistically, they are reaches for everyone unless you are valedictorian at a top school in the nation, have perfect testing, have an amazing ec that you put a lot of effort into, or have a hook. Cornell is probably a low reach, but the rest are probably regular reaches. Good luck!

Thank you. Could you suggest some LACs that might fit my profile? I’ve looked at a few (amherst, williams, vassar, etc.) but I scratched them from the list, because I assumed that I wasn’t the “LAC type”. Honestly, I’m still unsure what the major differences are between LACs and “research universities”…

The good thing about LACs is that they are small enough that you can get internships with professors even as a freshman! Williams has a strong science department so it might be worth a second look. You should also look into Swarthmore, which has a relationship with UPenn so you could get an awesome internship at UPenn or even at a hospital (if you’re interested in Pre-med). Haverford is also praised for its science programs and Harvey Mudd is probably the most science oriented liberal arts college in the country!

You have quite an impressive list of achievements there. I would just like to say that you will benefit more if you visit the campuses of various colleges. Personally I find it better to get a feel for campus life as well as the students and living environment. You might attend a renowned school but if you are not comfortable there or feel out of place, your time there may not be as satisfactory as visiting a college beforehand. I visited Vassar, and while I find the campus to be beautiful, I do not think I would fit in well with the students or the environment. Best of luck in your college endeavors :)

I’d say you would be accepted. However, Tufts has a reputation of rejecting outstanding candidates such as yourself because they believe you will get into higher ranked schools and therefore not attend.
