-I will also be entering ISEF, Siemens, and/or Intel after my work at the Garcia program!

oh hey, i went to melville.
congrats in getting into the garcia program!

i’d say you have a good shot at cornell, and you’re a pretty competitive applicant for the rest of the ivies. it can go either way. i’ve got a friends with lower stats than you that got into cornell this year, though.

rest of the ivies are a toss up. i’d say HYP are pretty unlikely. most of your awards are very generic or awarded to large groups of people. most of your ECs just show that you’re a participant in a wide range of activities. i know from firsthand experience that SARAS is pretty useless, lol, and being a member of various honor’s societies isn’t indicative of anything beyond the fact that you’re an above average student.

it looks pretty when you list out your accomplishments like that, but you need ones that distinguish you. winning Intel or Siemens could be that one thing, but that’s kinda a crapshoot as well.

i think you’ll get into NYU and probably Tufts as well, though.

haha thanks for all of the great advice. SARAS LOL

bump. If anyone has any chances or advice for me, please share! I would appreciate it :)

Better chances than most for Ivies because of your ethnicity, scores, and GPA. In your applications, try to focus on a passion–as gross as it is, you need to try to “brand” yourself.

NYU and BC seem like matches, tufts may be a high match/low reach.

Also can you chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525521-chance-me-upenn-columbia-barnard-etc-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

thanks a lot! sure thing!

Not trying to be annoying or anything, but if anyone has thoughts to share in terms of chances or just overall advice, please go for it! I would appreciate it very much! I might chance back too if I’m familiar with the schools you’re interested in.

Boston College and Tufts seem like matches. But be warned, Tufts does have Tuft’s syndrome, so with your stats, they may reject you just because they know you’ll get into some ivies. BUT that only happens sometimes, so dont worry too much. Your stats are on par for all of the Ivies, but try to make sure you demonstrate serious interest in the school through your essays, they have a ton of kids applying just because, so make sure you are genuinely interested in the school so it shows! You’re a great applicant for any school! Good luck!

Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525569-realistic-list-schools.html</a></p>

oh and i forgot NYU, seems like a match to me! But watch out, NYU has HORRIBLE fin aid. For a family of 6 making 70k a year that would have to pay 40k to go to NYU a year! that’s criminal! All of the ivies have great financial aid though, unmatched really. Boston and Tufts have good aid too.

True…anyway thanks and good luck to you too!
