Chance me for NYU ED, I will chance you back, I PROMISE!

Good resume. If you worked a bit more on the scores, I’d say for sure, but Stern is tough.

Hopefully, see you there. Class of 2015!!

you should be fine but stern will be a tossup…chance me please

You’ve definitely got a hook, and a strong one at that. I think you’ve got solid chances - but maybe a higher SAT score would help but still.
I’m applying to NYU too, but RD.
Good luck and congrats on all your entrepreneur-y stuff. Pretty amazing stuff! (not sarcastic btw)

Chance mee  http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1011610-chance-me-pleasee-columbia-ed-will-chance-back-gladly.html</a></p>

Thank you everybody for responding, I just chanced you guys back!

Looking for more help guys! November and the rest of this month is going to SUCK lol :(

Stern would be difficult with that SAT, but NYU is very feasible as of now. Good luck!

Chance me please?

Hey, you interested in a startup? I’m interesting in starting up a new internet company. I’m a teenage entrepreneur here’s an article on me If you would like to see it. PM me if you’re interested in coming up with something.

http://www.9and10news.com/category/story/?id=243062&cID=1</a></p>

Oh, and you’ll easily get in to NYU.

Gradewise where are you in your class rank?
Not being in the top 10 makes the ivies nearly impossible as only 2-3% of students are accepted into ivies who are not in the top 10% (urms/recruited athletes/ crazy legacies)
that being said, stern is a low-mid reach since ur ecs help you a lot

grades will definitely hurt but ur passion for business should be able to get you far in the admissions process

Yes I am actually

Please contact me at jack.wang50@gmail.com

I’m currently working with fellow colleagues and working on an online startup. Our main goal is to create a safe, user friendly medium to connect two age groups who are in disarray.

I am still looking for more PHP, MySQL, Ajax programmers in case we run into a snag with technology.

Regards,
Jack

Rawrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Dude, about a dozen people have told you that you’re in. Stop rawrrr-ing :P

Yeah I know :frowning: Would suck so bad if I got rejected to every school I applied to except my safety which I had auto admission lol…

Bringing back a dead post! Hehe~

Btw I’m in the top 17%, since my high school is so DAMN competitive. If I moved 4 miles down the street, I would be in top 7%, but NOO -.-

Oh my goodness, I’m jealous of your stats! Your E.C.s (especially the business) are so impressive and any admissions officer should be able to recognize your motivation and potential for success (which you’ve already demonstrated). You have a GREAT shot!
chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1007698-chance-me-please-ill-chance-you.html</a></p>

you have a pretty good shot of getting in

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1015320-chance-me-top-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thx everyone for replying!

“NHS, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honors club), Good volunteer hours, JV swimming and a bunch of other crap I don’t care about but joined just to put on resume”

And this is why I hope you get rejected from every single dream college you have.
I hope you realize that, a) stacking on extracurriculars just to get into a top college is a huge waste of your time and your youth, and b) that most top colleges can very well see when a student is interestingly well-rounded or just attempting to make a shopping list of pointless ECs to pepper their already-inflated ego.
Yeah, you’re probably going to be accepted to NYU, whatever. In the long run, you’ll most likely be making the same amount of money (of which you seem to cherish entirely too much) and be in the same position as any other person in your field of work that graduated from a decent university.
Do you really think its better to look back on your teen years and say, “I was like a high-profile business executive!” Would your family really be impressed? Or would you rather say that you were crazy (yet responsible) and happened to have an intense hobby for computers or whatever?

As far as the purpose of this thread goes, you can probably get into any university that your heart desires. But as a concerned CC’er, I recommend obtaining some sort of emotional freedom.

I’m not exactly sure how to take your reply, some portions are unclear. I hope that it is obvious I show passion in business and am already taking the initiative to begin it. I joined those clubs to see if I would be interested in them, but I am obviously not.

I don’t think that I am simply stacking those clubs on my resume, since I am not reporting a majority of those clubs anyways. I will be focusing on my business aspect.

Now, I probably will make the same amount of money in the long run, but I am taking initiative to try and NOT make the same amount of money. I wish for Kizag to become a interesting networking website that can be mentioned among the top few - Facebook, myspace, ebay, yelp, etc and hopefully be able to make a good profit from that :)

Especially since the internet is only 15 years old, my generation will have many more businesses that will be purely online. It doesn’t matter if your a 16 year old kid in a dorm room or a 30 year old with a MBA at Chicago (Booth), the internet has evened out the playing field.

My family doesn’t exactly know what I have been doing. They aren’t exactly supportive of me going this path, since entrepreneurs statistically fail more than engineers (Family’s career of choice), so I really can’t answer the next question about if my family would be impressed, since they actually offer more discouragement than encouragement.

What do you mean by emotional freedom? Ever since the age of 11 when I flipped a pack of gum for 93% profit, I had always wished to be in charge of a business. Now, 6 years later, it has become a reality and has always been my passion. Could you please explain what you mean?

Regards,
Jack

Well, November is going to be a HARD month. 60 something days until I know my decision :(
