You know you want to chance me! Chance back as well :)

Alright, so this is my chance thread following Oct. SAT.

GPA: 3.892 out of 4, weighted, top 10%
SAT: 2130 (750 CR, 730 Math, 650 writing), 1480 out of 1600
Subject Tests: hist- 790, math lev. 1 - 660, bio-m - 650
AP Classes (4 this year, 4 last): US Hist-5, Comp Sci A- 5, Bio -4, English Lang. - 4
Classes this year: AP Psych, English Lit., Euro hist, Stats, and honors physics

My lowest grade in HS was a C+ in precalc, which I kind of blame on the teacher so just want to throw that out there lol.

Decent Essays, 3 good recommendations imo (1 from teacher who went to UPenn Wharton, 1 from UVA grad who has studied at Cambridge, 1 from guidance counselor)

Ethnicity - Pakistani

EC's (the one's I'm putting on common app activities for sure)

Team Tennis Captain
1x All-conference
3x All-Academic Team
2x Individual qualifier for state tournament
Varsity all four years
150+ hours of volunteering at local mosque
MYAC Club officer
Athletic Leadership Council member
USTA Summer/Winter Tennis Teams
10-15 hours a week working at Dominoes

Stuff I'm going to put down in the additional information section:
Speak two languages fluently, can read another script
Been a member of three clubs - History, Tennis, Debate (might be history VP- don't know yet so what should I say?)
Made a few websites to attempt to make money
Made a few games in java

Schools I'm applying to!

ED - NYU Stern
EA - Univ. of Chicago, Northeastern, UConn, Fordham
School I'm applying to if I don't get into Stern, reg. decision- Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, Georgetown, Northwestern, maybe UPenn/Cornell for lols, other business schools

Let me know which one's you think I can get into. Also, if you think there is anything wrong with the way I'm doing my common app let me know pls. Will not be applying for any financial aid.

ED-NYU Stern: low reach/reach
EA: u of chi: match
northeastern: match
uconn…don’t know
fordam: match

I think you have a great chance of getting into NYU stern. But I’m a little worried you don’t show any business oriented classes/ec, might help if you did. But still its a low reach.
chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1022668-ed-johns-hopkins-university-ill-chance-you-back.html</a></p>

Thanks for the response.

Also, planning on being a business major of some kind- either finance, econ, or business itself (if that’s a major).

Bump! for more chances

Stern/Chicago- High Reach
Northeastern- Low match
Uconn/Fordham- safeties
BC- Target
CMU- Low reach
UVA(OOS)- Low-Mid reach
Gtown- Low reach
NW- Low Reach
Cornell- Mid-High reach
Penn(Wharton)- High reach

Average SAT scores for most of the schools you’re applying to. GPA is also kinda average. ECs are semi weak since its really only tennis with work and community service(which most other applicants have). if ur getting recruited for tennis, its killer but otherwise ecs are a bit subpar. Having no experience in business weakens your app at stern/penn but should be fine at other schools. odds are youll probs get into 1 or 2 of your low reach-high reach schools and into your matches and safeties.
good luck

Thanks 2015, I chanced you :).

Friendly bump, gettin anxious lol.

Stern: Low Reach
Chicago: Reach
Northeastern: match
Fordham: Safe
UConn: Low match
Carnegie Mellon: Reach
UVA(OOS): High match/Low Reach
Gtown: High match
Boston College: Match
Northwestern: Mid Reach
Cornell: Low Reach
Penn(Wharton): Reach

Good SAT I’s, but the SAT II’s are a little low. Should be alright for matches.
Also, having a rec from a UPenn alum definitely increases your chances there.

I bet you’ll get into Stern :)

bump! didn’t disguise this time.

night bump!

I think you’ll get into NYU ED, so do I need to chance you for the others?

why not :)

I’d say NYU and UChi are small reaches, while the other EAs look good. If you don’t get those, Boston College would be a match, while the others would all be reaches.
Best of luck.

don’t worry at all-you’ll get into Stearn no problem

I hope so, but what do they really look at? Same applies to all colleges I guess.

I’ll chance the colleges I know well.

NYU Stern - Small reach but ED you you’ll get it!
Univ. of Chicago - Reach, but good shot with fantastic essays
Northeastern - Match
Fordham - Match

Boston College - Match
UVA - good shot, but OOS so watch the essays
Georgetown - medium reach
Northwestern - medium reach
UPenn/Cornell - high reach

thanks again

ED - NYU Stern - You have a good shot. Match/high match

EA - Univ. of Chicago, Northeastern, UConn, Fordham - I’d say certainly in for all of these except U of Chicago, chicago would be low reach.

Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, Georgetown, Northwestern, maybe UPenn/Cornell - Match for boston, Carnegie Mellon: would be high match, Georgetown: low reach, Northwestern: medium reach. Cornell: low reach (they don’t look at writing score), UPenn: High reach.
