Chance me for NYU? International student

I won’t be using my test scores because they’re terrible. Do you think I can get into NYU with these national exams ? CXC/GCSE exams , the minimum is 5 passes including Math and English and I got 13. ( way above the required and I graduated with the highest category which is High Honors which means any student that passed 9 or more subjects with grades A-B ( no Cs) only 10 students in my graduating class received this and out of those 10 I was the top 5 in a graduating class of 141.

6 A
6 B
1 C

I’m also submitting my AS Level grades
AABB ( retaking the B exams)

I’m not familiar with the CXC or GCSE exams (but from that info you must be from the Caribbean?) so I really can’t common on that…but since you mentioned in your other thread that you cannot afford more than $5000 a year, I recommend you DON’T apply to NYU. I feel like it would be a waste of the application fee…

NYU gives horrible financial aid for DOMESTIC students…and don’t be fooled at the international statistic. Yes, there are lots of international students at NYU…but they are mostly full-pay or extremely accomplished (international award winners).

Just exam scores are NOT going to get you into a place like NYU. Especially if your SAT scores are not good enough!

Good luck!

  1. Thanks for you comment.
  2. I said my parents wouldn't be able to afford it. Luckily, I got 3 scholarships which had rigours applications.
  3. I am from one of the most economically advanced countries in the world and I have about 20 $40,000+scholarships that I can apply for.
  4. Besides the scholarship, the government where I'm from gives automatic $20,000 for undergrad.

That being said , if it were up to my family, NYU would be a no way but thanks to my country I can be able to afford it

Which country is this?

I’d rather not say although it should be easy to guess. Also, it’s not just my country that has this , contrary to popular belief , some countries in the Caribbean can afford to send thousands of students abroad for college each year, for 4 or more years.
