<p>I'm a rising senior who's interested in Penn State, Towson University, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech, and possibly UConn</p>

<p>Here are my stats:</p>

<p>SAT I: 1550 (510 CR, 580 M, 460 W, ), first try, will retake
Unweighted GPA: 3.31
Weighted GPA: 3.61
Rank: 91/544
AP: Psychology 4
English Lang 3
Human Geo 3
3D Studio Art 3</p>

<p>Senior Year Course Load:
IB Psychology 2
AP English Lit
AP US Govt
I'll also be taking Developmental Psychology at my local community college</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
JV Soccer (Freshman and Sophomore)
Varsity Soccer (Junior, will play Senior year)
JV Lacrosse (Sophomore)
Environmental Club (Junior and Senior)</p>

<p>Volunteer/Community Service:
I think i have about 70 hours...nothing special</p>

<p>No work experience</p>

<p>Essays: Not exactly sure what to write about yet...
Teacher Recommendations: I know I can get a solid recommendation from my Psych teacher, and a good one from my counselor as well</p>

<p>Sorry, I can’t really comment on the others, but why not apply to univ. of maryland baltimore and/or college park?</p>

<p>I just dont think that I would get in (to College Park), my SAT scores are far too low. Even though I am planning to retake, most people dont improve their score by that much, so I dont see much hope in being accepted</p>

<p>What makes you think you’d get into Penn State, Cuse, VT, or Uconn if you can’t get into UMD? PSU is ‘ranked’ higher than UMD. </p>

<p>GPA is 2/3 of PSU’s decision, and it’s on the low end. SAT score is also not good enough at the current score either. </p>

<p>Your SAT score is also below the bottom 25% at VT, with won’t help applying OOS. </p>

<p>Your best bet here is Towson.</p>

<p>These schools are by no means my safeties, I just wanted opinions on if I even stand a chance.</p>

<p>Towson you’ll get in no problem! You will definitely want to apply for UMD too, if you want the big school feel. I go to Towson and you’re always running into some Psych major so our program is big. I can speak for PSU and that will definitely be a reach and a lot more expensive. The other ones I have little knowledge about but if you really want to go to them, let the school know!
And if you’re worried that half of your class is going to Towson and UMD, you’ll rarely run into anyone! Good luck!</p>
