Chance me for Purdue CS? Terrible junior year grades; ok SAT; URM

I submitted my application today, but I’m really nervous…

Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.4 UW, 3.8 W
SAT: 1540
URM - black/African
OK grades until junior year:

C+: English
C+: History
C: Physics
D+: BC Calculus

I know, it’s dismal. However, I did have 4 semesters of CS that year and got As in all of them, does that count for anything? I also had extenuating circumstances that affected me pretty badly. My essay is pretty good, about an 8/10. My teacher & counselor recs are also decent and I go to a very competitive high school. My extracurriculars and background are also good.

Hopefully your GC’s LOR addressed your extenuating circumstances but honestly the physics and calc grades are going to raise some red flags. CS has gotten very competitive. Good luck to you!

Honestly unless something truly tragic occurred, I’d say no chance. What are your grades right now and in what classes?
