Chance me for Rice University please!

I am a rising senior in Houston, and along with applying to some direct medical programs, I am considering applying to Rice. I am also applying to UT as a safety. I have heard it is harder for Houston residents to be accepted into Rice and that Rice prefers out of state students. Also, I heard being Asian makes it harder.

Would applying ED help any?

You look like a really good candidate for Rice, as far as I can tell. Looking at your EC’s, however, I see a lot of qualifications and leadership positions, by which I mean the “grocery list” of titles and clubs, but I don’t see anything that stands out as really dedicated–something you’ve been doing for longer than just high school, something you feel REALLY passionate about; because that’s what colleges want in EC’s, and that goes for Rice especially: passion and dedication.

^ I agree with the above poster:
You’re test scores and rank make you a great match for Rice, however.
EC’s are really only thing to focus on, as of right now.

Or right an amazing essay!

about applying for ED: I have absolutely no idea, sorry!
