General grade trend is downward, with me getting all A’s freshman year (who doesn’t?), and pretty much half/half As and Bs sophomore and junior year with two Cs, both in an honors/AP science class. My second C was in APES where I got a 4 on the test so I don’t know if that is considered.
SAT score:
Reading and Writing: 750
Math: 680
I plan on taking the SAT again because I didn’t study the first time (I know, I know, I am a bad person) and I have actually studied for the august one and plan on studying more, especially the math. I know that SAT can’t make up for a bad GPA but it might be able to help.
AP scores:
AP euro 5
APES 4
APUSH 5
AP lang 5
Extracurriculars:
I joined mock trial my sophomore year and was very active in that sophomore, junior, and (will be) my senior year.
I joined model UN my sophomore year and have won various awards in that.
I participated in a number of public speaking competitions where I won various awards.
Not an extracurricular, but I have won awards for my art in competitions.
Community service:
This is the department where I am lacking the most. I have volunteered a bit at a soup kitchen and the library but not a lot. I also have some hours from youth court but not a lot since it is not a frequent activity. I know colleges hate it when people get hours very late so I’m wondering if there is even a point in acquiring anything now. Next year I want to form a tutoring group for the sophomores and my friend said I can get community service for that.
I made a lot of mistakes by slacking off throughout my high school career, and unfortunately I think my low grades and lackluster EC’s show that. However I am wondering if there is a chance if I apply to scripps early decision. I’m also wondering if there is anything I should be doing at this point.
I live in California and I am white. Both of my parents went to college.
