Chance me for SDSU

Hi!
I’m looking to see what you guys think my chances are for getting into San Diego State. My unweighted GPA is a 3.83 and my weighted GPA is a 4.5. My Sat score is a 1320, I got a 700 in Reading and 620 in math. I have taken Honors English 1-2, 3-4 and AP Language and am taking AP literature. I also have taken AP Euro, AP USH, and am currently in AP Econ/Gov. I also have taken Honors Conceptual Physics, Honors Biology, AP Biology and am currently in AP Chem. I also have taken Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 3-4, Honors PreCalculus and AP Calc B-C. I also have taken Mandarin 1-2, 3-4 and Honors 5-6 and 7-8. I am in Key Club, NHS, SOWS, on the e-board for Mandarin Club and volunteer at the hospital.
Thanks!

What is your CSU capped weighted GPA since that is what will be used for the eligibilty index calculation?

Cal states only use 10-11th grades for the a-g courses for the GPA calculation and cap the weighting at 4 year long or 8 semesters of UC approved Honors/AP/DE or IB classes.

Intended major?

Once you have your CSU GPA, then calculate your eligibilty index using the same link.

Cal states fo not consider EC’s in their application review with the exception of Cal poly SLO.

CSU’s admit by eligibilty index and major where you are ranked.

Target EI is 4459 but if you are applying for Nursing the target EI is 4694.

My son has similar stats except a 3.91 GPA and 1420 SAT and got into the business program. There was a subset of applicants released in December and fortunately, he was one of them.

I think based on your stats and what I have seen in tools like Naviance, you are in good shape assuming that the major isn’t impacted.

@TheCollegeDad: All majors at SDSU are impacted but some more than others.

@katellynnn: You are ranked based on EI and major so you cannot compare your stats to other applicants except within your intended major. Also being within the local service area or not, will impact your chances.

Based on your posted information, you have a very good chance at an acceptance but it will be depend upon how you stack up against all the other applicants in your major.

if you’re applying to something that’s not like nursing, you got like a near 99% chance with those stats. im in business there, had a 3.82 weighted and a 1470
