Depends on EC. But you have a chance because of 4 gen legacy

You have a great chance. If you go ED you have 60% chance, which is unbelievable

ED?

Early Decision = ED

Early Action and Early Decision are the two kinds of early applications. You should look them up to see the differences :)

I am Early Decision, If I get into Stanford I will Go there. If you’d like to see that I am not lying about this, search “Graham Leggat, Stanford” in Google and see the page they dedicated to him. If I get in, he will be proud.

You can’t ED to Stanford, only REA (Restrictive Early Action).
And while I do agree with Benz that you will be perhaps competitive because of your legacy status, I do not think it will boost your chances up to no where near 60%. In addition, you can only apply REA (Restrictive Early Action) to Stanford University, not ED. REA does not boost your chances at all. Good luck!

I did CTY, too! I definitely think you have a chance but you may be lacking some honors/awards that it seems like a lot of other applicants have, such as AP Scholar, National Merit Finalist, winning contests, etc., but the legacy is a huge advantage. I would really appreciate it if you chanced me, as well :)

Without the 4 Gen Legacy, you would just be another competitive applicant with maybe a 1/5 chance of getting in, but that 4 Gen legacy really helps you out.

I agree with previous posters. Don’t rely on your legacy status–there’s too many to keep track of for admissions. They can’t give them all priority. If you applied REA then you should have already received a decision some time go. I assume you’re posting this because you have been deferred. I think that you should make sure they know you’re interested. Send them a letter affirming your interest, telling them you will go there 100% if you get in, and include a bulleted list of your accomplishments since submitting your app.

I can’t say that you will for sure get in, but you surely have a good chance. Your testing is what they are looking for. Many people are applying with higher GPAs, but if your school is especially hard/prestigious they will understand.

Best of luck

Chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1617448-chance-me-please-i-ll-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Legacy makes the big difference. There is a student in my D’s school with below average ACT/GPA/EC with double legacies got accepted while students with near perfect score/GPA and strong ECs got rejected from SCEA.

I think you have a strong chance, especially because of the legacy, also your ECs

You have a great chance! What are your SAT 2s? You have a great shot, good luck. Chance back?

What is your relationship to the late Graham Leggat?
On the Stanford SCEA thread, you said you got in and said your first name begins with a “W”.

Yet here you are a junior.
What?

I think you have an excellent chance even without the legacies (60%). would be surprised if you don’t get in. So you’re a junior? chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1626482-chances-for-mit.html#latest</a></p>

Overall, I’d say you have a strong chance. Your SAT, GPA, and fourth generation legacy will certainly help. Still a crapshoot though, good luck.

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1625069-chances-at-competitive-schools-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

@chancemeonthis Don’t write false information-- this site is used to help people. Why would you post here when you claim (on the Stanford thread) that you got in? Furthermore, the information you posted on that thread is completely bogus… you don’t include programs from elementary school on a COLLEGE application-- really? Don’t ■■■■■. It’s annoying. Or, in the world of my favorite little boy Billy: You’re tacky, and I hate you.
