Hook (kind of)
Legacy (mother, I think she still donates but not very much probably like $100 every year or so)

I am planning on retaking the SAT for a 2250 and the ACT for a 34 which I know I can do with summer studying. I was also wondering if its even worth signing up for National Honors Society or Spanish National Honors Society senior year because I haven't done either yet. Basically at my school you pay $5 and they put you on a list so I don't understand why colleges value that. Finally I'm hoping that it doesn't look bad that I quit wrestling and XC. I am forced to do the latter as tennis is moving to the fall. Wrestling I just plain didn't like. Maybe they will view this as me sorting through my interests and not just blindly doing every activity 4 years to boost my resume.

I don’t know how much legacy helps for Stanford, but you’re slightly on the low side for the school. You definitely have a chance though. Work hard on those apps and the best of luck :p!

Yeah I read somewhere that it doubles your chances but double like 9% isn’t that significant. I think that if I get the test scores I mentioned I was trying for above I will be on the higher end reather than “the lower end”.

bump 10 char

Stanford is the least loyal to legacies of the top schools. Chances do not increase by anything like double as they do for ivies at minimum.

I just meant that statistically like 20% of legacy students who apply are admitted which is better than 9%. I recognize that its a pretty small thing but it definetly helps.
