I've been freaking out the past couple of days wondering if I should apply. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.62 UW, 4.91 W (3.8 uw w/o freshman year)

Class rank: 15/661 (will go up by end of year)

SAT: 2090 (720 M 680 CR 690 W)

SAT II: 730 chem 800 math

Hooks: URM, First gen college

Random: I work at a tutoring center and love it, president of a tutoring program at local middle school, captain of Science olympiad 11th grade (2nd place regionals, 9th in state), learning programming at UCF in my spare time, founder of computer and robotics club, first 11th grader ever chosen to represent school in math contest.

There are some others, but these are the most important.

Please chance! Thanks, it means a lot.

You should. Younever know. Anyone has a chance.

Thanks. Also, I’m looking for any input on applying. Anything that would increase my chances would be greatly appreciated.

You have hooks, but I feel that your ECs are lacking. Your SAT is also subpar. I do think the hooks count for a lot, but Stanford is very unpredictable.

Definitively have strong, unique, personal, passion-filled essays. Get good recs, show upward trend, and hope for the best.

I think Stanford is a reach, but its a reach for most people and a crapshoot. Good luck!

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1256342-chance-me-wharton-harvard-columbia-etc.html

Thanks, I’ll be working on my essays all of winter break.
