Chance me for Tepper-Carnegie Mellon (ED)!

<p>Im currently a Junior and just want to know my chances for CMU Tepper early decision. I know CMU values interest so I'm planning on attending the tour, doing the sleeping bag weekend, etc.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.09 (W)</p>

<p>Senior year AP (in case req.): AP Econ, AP US Gov Pol, AP Statistics, AP Calc BC/MCLA</p>

<p>SAT: 2330 (Super Score) - 730 (CR) 800 (M) 800 (W)
PSAT (if it even counts): 233 - I'm expecting to be maybe a NMSQT finalist?</p>

<p>SAT II:
Math II - 800<br>
Physics - 770</p>

<p>ECs:
President of a business club at my school (held other positions previous years)
Placed finalist and semifinalist in two statewide business competitions
Did a bunch of other small clubs and sports (Model UN, Track and Field, etc.)
Internship for a month at a consulting firm and waiting on another in NYC for the coming summer
Worked at a local tutoring center
Volunteered over 150+ hours (group homes for the disabled, organizing 5k runs for charity, First Aid Squad, etc.)</p>

<p>Recommendations: I expect them to be good overall. I might add a recommendations from someone I worked for as a supplemental if that's possible.</p>

<p>Race/Gender: Indian/Male </p>

<p>I heard CMU has higher early decisions acceptance rate however after I saw that only 86 or so undergraduates attended Tepper last year it really scared me and wonder about my chances. Thanks to those who do chance me and give me feedback!</p>

<p>What’s your UW GPA?</p>

<p>Your academics are good enough and your SAT II scores look really good. Your EC’s are pretty good. As long as your UN GPA is good, I think it’s a match.</p>

<p>@Nflpackers96 my UW GPA is on the low side like around 3.7 which is probably what I’m most concerned about and I’ll try my best to chance you but there’s no guarantee it’ll be accurate
@Catria Thanks for your response! What would you say my chance at some place more selective would be like UMich Ross for Preferred Admit or even NYU Stern which I’m guessing is around the same difficulty as Tepper?</p>

<p>Still good, but i don’t know how stringent UMich and NYU are with GPA’s. 27% of CMU applicants had a GPA
From 3.5 to 3.75. 27% is a lot compared to most top colleges and you’re at the top of that tier anyway, so your UW GPA isn’t a big concern.</p>
