Thanks for the chances :)

If any of you guys want me to chance you back, put in the link. If I know about the colleges, I'll gladly do so :)

Addition.
TOEFL Score: 111 (Reading - 27 Writing - 28 Listening - 29 Speaking - 27)

HI!
Idk for all the colleges you apply… I am an international too. I know about Oberlin and Middlebury to which I also apply , and I have done a really deep research on them. To be honest, your scores are low (29 ACT)… Yet writing a book and filming documentaries may gine u a ticket to those colleges…
What about TOEFL?

Chance me back…(see my profile…Thread name: Chance me…(gonna be debatable)).

Good luck!

We posted it at the same time…
Well, we have a lot of things in common… apart for the two colleges that we apply…
I want to study neuroscience and I got 111 in TOEFL…
hahahah!

GreekStudent!
I know Oberlin and Midd don’t seem very probable, but I thought, why not give it a shot?
Plus, Oberlin’s middle 50% range of the ACT was 27 - 31, so I’m a little hopeful.
I love Oberlin, actually. And it’s got a GREAT neuroscience department!
You know, its got everything I’m looking for - small school, wonderful class sizes, terrific research opportunities, and they give significant financial aid (which is a must for me)
Also, I’ll be able to pursue the research I’ve wanted to since my junior year there!
Have you read the Oberlin blogs? They’re brilliant if you want to get an insight about the school and can’t visit!
Anyway, thanks for the chance :)

Anybody else? Right now, I’m kinda freaking out, so! :)

Well, I know… Oberlin is a great… and I really want to study there…
But who knows maybe we are classmates in 9 months from now…!

Haha.
Yes, maybe.
:)

Bumpity bump!
Cummon guys! I could really use some responses :)

Bump [10 char]

I am also an international student, but i am from china. :stuck_out_tongue: anyways
Oberlin–it is selective though… a high match
Hamilton—match
Washington and Lee—i also applied to this school. high match/low reach
Wooster—in
Trinity—match
Middlebury----reach
Brandeis—high match
Columbia—oh reach!!! but your ECs are pretty awesome!!!

could you chance me back?

wellliu, thanks :)

I chanced you back, btw ;)

I always thought that Hamilton and Oberlin are equally competitive to get into.

Maybe, I was wrong.

Anyway, thanks ;)

Bump, guys :)

you are right. Hamilton is very selective. i don’t know why but chinese students get into this school more easily. for example, cornell university, some students with 1900+ get into this school. however americans will not with this score. anyway, your ECs are really great. so i believe you have the shot. :)

Yeah? I’m surprised. I always thought that considering that a LOT of Chinese students apply to the States, it will be more competitive!
Anyway, you’re applying to liberal arts colleges, and thats a plus as most Chinese students go for Engineering
Good luck to you and me too ;)

Actually, wellliu, you are absolutely wrong. Taking into account that thousands of Chinese students apply to US and also that colleges do want diversity, students from India and China are in the most competitive pool. See MIT acceptance rate for Chinese students… really, really low <2%!!!
On the other hand, students from small countries from Africa or east Asia have better chances. Also, as far as I know, students from Greece prefer UK to US (cheaper + Europe) so only few (150-300) students apply each year to the 3,500 US educational institutes…

So, don’t be mislead… Yet, that doesn’t mean anything specific. As far as you are a strong applicant, your chances aren’t gonna be hurt! Keep that in mind---->equality.

Okay, this is old. But I’m getting restless. Can’t April 1 come already? :frowning:
Anymore chances, anyone?

Umm I am not really good at chancing people but I just want to say your ECs are quite good.
I completely agree with Greekstudent on this particular point that the competition between Chinese students is really high…

Oberlin - match
Hamilton - match
Washington and Lee - in
Wooster - in
Trinity - low reach
Middlebury - low reach
Brandeis - match
Columbia - high reach

chance back!

Skycatter- Thanks for the chance
SoHopeless, I don’t understand.
I can get into W&L and Hamilton & Oberlin but not Trinity.
Hm, I thought that I could get into Trinity but definitely not Oberlin and W&L. And even Hamilton too.
SpEeDdyZ - Thanks for the chances. If I do get into Oberlin and W&L, I’ll be ON TOP of the world
I’ll chance you back!

Anyone else?
