I have a few instate safeties not listed above.
Thanks so much. I will chance back.
Notre Dame ,Villanova, and UVA are all favorable possibilites. The internship is a nice touch, and for the schools you’re looking at, your ECs are fine. The fact that you speak Italian and are in Italian competitions help you stand out. I personally would try the GPA up.
I was recently admitted to Stern RD. I would say you have a good shot if you apply ED. Not sure how much the SAT writing counts. I got 1530 M+CR but just 710 on the Writing. I heard it counts less but not sure how much less.
UMich would be a low reach even for LSA. GPA is below their admission average (3.85) while SAT is slightly above 25% for admission (2040 last year).
@metsfan27 thanks. Yeah I think writing is my biggest issue. Do you have any other advice for me to get in to stern?
@billcsho Yeah I can see what your saying. To me it seems like a reach because of the stats i have heard, but on Naviance it looks like I would have no trouble getting into LSA.
@SternBusiness Note that the stat on Naviance can be the cumulative data from the past. The admission rate at UMich is getting much lower within the last few years while the admission stat keeps going up higher. The overall admission rate at UMich was over 40% not long ago and it is now below 30%. It is particularly bad for OOS applicants as the pool size almost doubled within the past 5 years. In other words, the OOS admission rate went down by half.
@billcsho Yeah I will keep that in mind. Thanks
@billcsho Yeah I will keep that in mind. Thanks
@SternBusiness I would also definitely try to do a really good job on your NYU supplemental essay, especially on the"Why NYU" part
@metsfan27 Yeah thanks I have heard that from a bunch of people, that the essays are very important.
