Hey guys, so I am applying for the Fall 2016 semester as a BS degree seeking student in Computer Science and would really appreciate it if you guys could chance me for the following colleges.
CMU
Cornell
UCB
Georgia Tech
University of Texas - Austin
UIUC
Purdue
USC
UCSD
UW - Madison
U Mich - Ann Arbor
I am an international IB student, and my grade in the IB is currently at a 36/42 and my subjects are
Physics HL - 6/7
Maths HL - 6/7
Chem HL - 6/7
Eco SL - 6/7
French AB - 6/7
English Lang and Lit - 6/7
My SAT superscore - 2100
Math - 760
Writing - 670
CR - 670
Toefl - 111/120
For UCs you need to provide the composite scores of your SAT.
That would be a 2090 then with a 660 CR instead
Umich does not super score when it comes to the SAT or ACT. They take the sitting with the highest overall score and use that to evaluate you.
What is your overall unweighted GPA?
For your ECs, are you able to talk about each of them with substance? That is more important than quantity.
Hey @umcoe16, without a superscore my composite score would be 2090, as I mentioned with the 660 in CR instead. Also since I am following the IB program we do not get any official gpa converter for our IB grades but following one I found online for IB students it comes out to be a 3.75. I am unsure regarding the validity of the conversion table though. Also, will colleges consider the courses taken by the student while making decisions based on academics because my subject combination happens to be considerably tougher than the others offered in school.
When it comes to EC’s I believe I have a substantial amount of them with more emphasis on leadership and community outreach.
So is it any good for the colleges?
