Hey guys,
I will be applying in fall 2016 for undergrad in computer science in the following universities in the US, I would like to know in which universities would I actually have a chance of getting in
And where should I apply for early decision
- Carnegie Mellon - ED available
- Columbia university – ED available
- UPENN – ED available
- Princeton
- UCB
- UIUC
- GT
- Purdue
- Yale
Okay so my SAT score is 1990 currently
700 Math
640 CR
650 Writing
My 10th Grade percent is 91.2% overall
I am currently doing IB and I have received a 31/42 for my first semester so ill be expecting a predicted grade of about 34-36/42
And in toefl I received a 111/120
Reading 29
Listening 30
Writing 25
Speaking 27
I think your sat score is decent for UCB, GT, UIUC, and Purdue(Although still slightly on the lower end), but for the ivy league schools and CM it is pretty low.
Could you list any EC’s you have?
I think the ivy leagues are a reach for you atm, but if you have some good EC’s and can improve your sat score some I think you have a decent shot at UCB, GT, UIUC, and Purdue
Idk what state you live in but maybe check out some of the state schools there and see how their CS degrees are because it doesn’t seem likely that you will get int the ivy league schools you listed and state schools can’t afford to give out nearly as much aid as private schools can, just a thought if money is a potential issue
UCB= UC Berkeley ? Average SAT score for International applicants is around 2167. Definitely retake for a decent chance. What about EC’s and your essay will be very important.
Yeah I will be retaking the SAT hopefully get better scores and money is not really an issue.
My EC’s are -
- Executive Board for IYC MUN
- Participation in couple of MUNS
- Organizing Committee for interschool festivals
- Environmental Projects and campaigns
- E-Sports Events (I dont know if it counts)
- And some interschool competitions
- Organizing Committee for a TEDx talk
Also where is it wise to apply for early decision?
