It’s very difficult to predict stuff like this because a lot can change between now and the time you’re sending apps in. You might hit a couple of tough classes Junior year or you might become president of this really prestigious club. Nobody knows. All I can say now is keep up the hard work and come back next year. Right now, you’re on track to at least have a shot at all the schools you listed.

thanks kblitz! you really put things in perspective

bumppppppppppppppp

bumppppppppppppppp

no one wants to chance me…

probably would be best if you focus on your year now, and remove about half those colleges on your list

prestige chasing doesn’t work with top tier schools

no one here has recommended you for getting a safety school, seems like CC is too self absorbed in prestige of specific higher education schools

Focus on your grades, prepare for the SAT/ACT/Subject Tests, and have fun with your ECs, don’t do things in order to get into one of these top tier schools, it won’t work out.

Good luck

A more recently updated list of schools based on further research:

-UPenn
-Harvard
-UC Berkeley
-Yale
-Swarthmore
-Pomona
-Northwestern
-Georgetown
-UCLA
-NYU

some potential safeties:

UC Davis
UC Santa Cruz
University of Washington

any other recommendations for good safeties?

Also regarding my ECs, I am quite honestly passionate about all of them (except for Boy Scouts really, but I almost have my eagle so there’s no point in giving it up now. And track, mainly for PE credits, though it is enjoyable and good exercise). Just to give examples, for MUN, I’m only required to go to 5 conferences a year; last year I attended 9 and this year I will be attending 11 (including conferences at Berkeley and UCSB), in addition to chairing for the conference my school hosts and being active in MUN leadership. For JSA, I organized a mock presidential debate and mock election, and plan on doing a lot more. I started the literary society because I love to read and don’t usually allot time in my schedule to do so. I can get lost in the piano and usually play for over an hour a day.

So I definitely feel that I demonstrate passion in the majority of my ECs and enjoy them.

bumppppppppppppppp

Your grades are great so keep those up! I would suggest aiming for 2200-2400 on the SAT1 to get into any of the ivy league schools/ northwestern/berkeley. Also choose 2-3 subject tests that you know you can score very high on and relate to your major of choice. I was also going to say that you should start forming an idea of what you want to study in college and veer your extra curriculars and classes towards that area. Overall, Your grades are good, your tests have potential to be good, and your EC’s are very good as well. In your essays make sure you demonstrate a keen interest in the paritular school and talk about something you’re very passionate about.

Instant rejection.

ahaha im jk^

advice: 2400 on sat, 800 on all subject test, 5 on AP exams, get national recognition for your EC, become president of all school clubs , be a recruited athlete…

done. in for sure right?

alright if you cannot tell, im being sarcastic

but seriously: just ENJOY high school
don’t worry about college

wish i could. i’ve tried. if i do i’ll feel like my life is worthless.

i’m happy doing what i’m doing.

alright. so be it.

you gave me a good laugh though

bumppppppppppppppp

a christmas bump
