I'm a junior at a high school that is ranked top ten in our state (I'm from Massachusetts). Our school is also nationally recognized. I'm hoping to major in Political Science.

SCORES:
GPA 4.2 weighted and 3.85 unweighted
2240 SAT's: 790 writing, 750 math, and 700 critical reading (I'm retaking them again and hoping to raise my critical reading.)
Ranked #9 of 260 at our school.

EXTRACURRICULARS:
- Founded a club at my school. We help connect senior citizens with students in our grade.
- Mission trips to New Orleans and Haiti every summer. I help build houses and volunteer at orphanages and the Boys and Girls club while I'm there. Also these aren't those expensive trips that rich kids just go on to try to get into college, they're only about $500 and I pay for one of the two every year.
- Historian for our school's art club
- Varsity tennis since sophomore year, JV freshman
- Played my viola in Carnegie Hall as a sophomore, going to DC to play next year. I'm in all states this year and hope to be again next year.

Lehigh: very good
Boston College: safety
UMass Amherst (in state): very good

Your ECs are good but try getting something that really makes you stand out? Like perhaps something related to the subject you like. Social service like this, even though its great, is done by a lot of people world wide and doesn’t make you stand out enough for top tier colleges.
