Chance me for transfer admission!

College: top 25 LAC (according to Forbes), but top 40 according to U.S. News
Prospective Sophomore
Major: Economics
GPA: 3.9
ECs: Investment Club, Men’s Club Rugby, Alternative theater troupe, Social Business Venture Fund

ACT: 32

HS: 3.15
^Few Notes:

  1. I went to a nationally-ranked private school with a grade deflation problem (average Vanderbilt admitted GPA from my high school was something like a 3.5; plus, I was admitted to my current college ED which has an average enrolled student ACT of 30 and median GPA of 3.6)
  2. I took a bunch of honors courses (that weren’t weighted, unfortunately)

3. My grades dropped in high school from freshman year to sophomore year, but they've been steadily rising since then, with a big jump my first semester of college

Recs: very solid, professors I asked seemed genuinely saddened by my news and offered to talk to me if I wanted (got As in both their classes and participated a lot).

Essays: superb, went through a number of drafts on each of them and more or less poured my soul into the words

Schools:
Washington University in St. Louis
Vanderbilt University
Northwestern University (especially hopeful about this one because I spent a lot of time there growing up)
University of Michigan

I was just rejected by Michigan, so I’m wondering if I still have a chance at the other 3, or if that news is a good indicator that more rejections are to come.

Apologies for the really long post, but I just wanted to make sure I gave you guys all the facts in hopes of getting the most accurate answer I possibly can from CC.

I will chance anyone back who helps me out here. Forgot to mention that.

Did you get in?

@soontobecolleger Nope, but Vanderbilt admitted me, which is where I will be going in the fall.

@limitsbylaw congrats! I might’ve applied there if I wasn’t so allergic to warm weather

@soontobecolleger Thanks! Haha, I get that. Where do you currently go?

@limitsbylaw I go to a tiny high school in New Jersey and will be attending NU in the fall as a freshman. Today was actually my last day of high school so that’s why I’m just chillin on college confidential rn; idk how I got into the transfer forum…
