I would say that, while statistics-wise Tulane is somewhat of a reach, if you demonstrate interest and clarify what is different about you that will enrich Tulane’s student body, then you certainly have a shot. Be sure to emphasize your interest in Tulane’s strengths – i.e., undergraduate research opportunities with specific departments, how you might avail yourself of Tulane’s highly interdisciplinary approach to undergraduate education, your commitment to community service and how you would apply that to New Orleans, and your openness to other cultures as demonstrated through study of a foreign language, travel and/or other life experiences.
