My school has a good record with U of M, around 84% of applicants were accepted in 2015.
GPA(UW/W): 3.62/3.84
ACT: 34 (36E,33M,33R,34S,8/12W)
Class Rank: 57/321 (U of M doesn’t consider class rank, but I thought I’d put it in anyways)
Course Rigor: Rigorous, senior schedule is very rigorous; 5/6 of my classes this year are AP or Honors courses
EC’s: Good, although not super broad.
LOR’s: Good, including one from a professor at a local university
Other: My mom worked for U of M (if it makes a difference), legacy (kinda), huge upward trend in GPA (3.6 soph to 4.3 junior year), my essay is good, too (at least I think it is )
So how does it look? I know my GPA’s low but I hope I can make up ground in other places. Thanks!!!
Have someone else read your essay, it may seem good to you, but to someone who doesn’t know you it might not. Also, which U of M are you referring to? Michigan? Could you list your Ec’s and leadership positions? That would lead to a more accurate evaluation.

Yeah I’ve read it to a couple of people and the general consensus is that my essay is good (or at least decent). I’m also working with a person who kinda does Common App Essay help for a living, so it should be good (hopefully).
My EC’s: Head Madrich (teacher’s assistant) at my synagogue (I’ve racked up my volunteer hours from this, over 450 hours throughout HS), president of my temple youth org., captain of JV tennis, member of Ethics Bowl and Philosophy club, NHS and SNHS, Orchestra manager for my orchestra, and House of Rep’s member at Michigan Boys State.

I think your chances are pretty good! From all the stats i’ve researched for my own college process you are a good match. Are you applying early action? I am this year for the mathematics and possibly astrophysics major.

I’ve just looked into it a little bit. I’m just focused on getting into U of M at the moment.
