Weak points: I got a B in Eng. 1A (my first semester), French 1, and one UCLA TAP-articulated "Humanities through the Arts" class. All these classes are English-related, so does this weaken my application?

Any suggestions to strengthen my app? I had TAP w/ Berkeley for a while, until they kicked me out because of my parents' income.

They have a transfer alliance project. They pick 30 students from southern California every year (who are first generation, minority, or low-income) instead of making agreements with schools. You have to be invited by Berkeley to apply (I talked to an admissions rep).

It’s not called “english club” but it relates to the subject. I don’t want to post the title (considering I’m president and I’ve posted the name of my school) to retain my anonymity.

But what about deferment? I knew a 4.0 (poli sci major) classmate who was deferred to the Spring semester for Cal. Does anyone know the difference in competitiveness between those admitted in the fall and spring?

English majors aren’t terribly impacted, and you have good ec’s. Your gpa isn’t like mind blowing, but it’s still really good. To repeat, you’re fine.
