Chance me for UC Berkeley?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>To be honest, I'm not too interested in attending UC Berkeley, but I applied anyway because why not. It'd also be nice to have another option and t osee if I could get in. I'd like for you guys to chance me, please!</p>

<p>Major: Philosophy</p>

<p>Pre-reqs completed: Technically, UC Berkeley's pre-req requirements for philosophy are strange in that almost no CC offers them. But I've taken similar classes to most of those pre-reqs that I believe I can petition for credit if I were to get in at UC Berkeley. But as it stands, <em>technically</em>, I can't complete any of the pre-reqs for this major at my CC or just about any other according to assist.org. Obviously, Berkeley won't hold it against me. :P</p>

<p>GPA: 3.87</p>

<p>Major GPA: 3.75</p>

<p>ECs: Sigh, not much, sadly. Just some volunteering experience at the local food bank.</p>

<p>Personal Statement: Pretty meh, in my opinion. I'd say it's a 6/10.</p>

<p>IGETC completion: I'll have that completed by end of spring.</p>

<p>Chances?</p>

<p>Pretty high. You can just look at UCLA’s transfer statistics. They won’t be much different from Berkeley’s. For Philosophy avg gpa applied is 3.44 and admitted is 3.61 so you are very competitive with a 3.87.</p>

<p>How much will my unimpressive ECs factor in to all of this? It’ll definitely hurt me.</p>

<p>You aren’t applying to a competitive major so I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference.</p>

<p>You’re probably in, especially since you applied under L&S Humanities which I don’t think is nearly impacted as stuff like CS and Econ. I read that ECs aren’t really a factor anyways for transfers.</p>
